Utrecht University strives to provide a learning environment in which every potential student feels at home and can be successful. However, for students whose parents did not attend university (i.e., first-generation students), this ambition cannot be taken for granted for multiple reasons. Therefore, our project involves an innovative intervention starting during the enrolment process of students starting university and focuses on multiple aspects that contribute to strengthening first-generation students’ sense of belonging.
